$200,000+ Raised
Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Student Visionary and Junior Board Member
You may be familiar with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS), but this particular campaign hit close to home for Avery and her friend Emily. Avery’s friend Mia was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia at the very young age of nine, ultimately losing her battle shortly thereafter at age 10. Losing Mia was devastating to Avery and her heart was broken.
Watching her suffer and go through treatment at such a young age opened Avery’s eyes to many things. Leukemia is the #1 most diagnosed form of childhood cancer, and because of this and how it affected Mia, finding a cure has always been close to Avery’s heart. As a Student Visionary, Avery and Emily raised over $207,000 in just seven weeks.
